The 16-Session Higher Self Reset: A Structured Way to Get Your Life Back After a DUI or Failed Test

If you’ve had a DUI, failed a drug/alcohol test, or another substance-related violation, you already know how quickly life can flip:

  • Your license may be suspended or at risk.

  • Your job and income feel unstable.

  • You’re tangled in SAP, court, HR, or licensing board requirements.

  • Underneath it all is a mix of fear, shame, anger, and confusion.

Most people in this situation don’t need another lecture. They need a clear, structured way to reset—inside and out.

That’s what my 16-Session Higher Self Reset is designed to do.

In this post, I’ll walk you through:

  • What the 16-session program is (and isn’t)

  • How it’s different from generic classes or “check-the-box” programs

  • Who it’s for

  • What you can expect in the process

  • How it connects with my free 7-chapter guide, The RESET Point – 5 Essential Steps to Get Your Life Back After a DUI or Failed Test

And, if it resonates, how you can book a free consultation or download the guide to explore next steps.

Why “Just Getting Through It” Isn’t Enough

After a violation, it’s tempting to think:

“I just need to jump through the hoops and move on.”

The problem is: those hoops exist for a reason.

If you only do the bare minimum:

  • You might get through this on paper, but

  • Your patterns, stress, and coping strategies stay the same

  • Which means you’re living with a constant fear of: “What if this happens again?”

Most people don’t end up here because they’re “bad” or “broken.” They’re:

  • Overstressed

  • Under-supported

  • Using alcohol or substances to cope

  • Operating on autopilot until everything crashes

What you need isn’t endless punishment.

You need a reset.

What Is the 16-Session Higher Self Reset?

The 16-Session Higher Self Reset is a structured, one-on-one program I created for people who’ve had substance-related incidents—especially those in safety-sensitive roles (drivers, healthcare workers, high-responsibility professionals, etc.).

It’s designed to help you:

  • Understand what actually led to this point

  • Learn real impulse control and emotional tools

  • Build a personal relapse / risk-prevention plan

  • Reconnect with your Higher Self—the part of you that wants safety, honesty, and long-term wellbeing

  • Show your SAP, doctor, or employer that you’re taking this seriously with a clear, time-limited protocol

You’re not just sitting in vague “talk therapy.”

You’re moving through a map.

The 4 Core Phases of the Reset

Every person is unique, but the structure stays consistent. Think of the 16 sessions as four phases:

Phase 1: Stabilize & Tell the Truth (Sessions 1–4)

In this phase, we focus on:

  • Stabilizing your nervous system (so you can think clearly)

  • Mapping your history, habits, and the violation(s)

  • Understanding your values and goals

  • Beginning to separate “I made a serious mistake” from “I am a mistake”

We explore:

  • What actually happened that day/night

  • What was happening in your life leading up to it (stress, relationships, work)

  • How you see yourself now vs. how you want to see yourself one year from now

This is where we gently, honestly face reality together.

Phase 2: Understand Your Triggers & Patterns (Sessions 5–8)

Here, we get specific:

  • What are your internal triggers (thoughts, emotions, body sensations)?

  • What are your external triggers (people, places, times of day)?

  • What are the early warning signs that you’re heading toward a bad decision?

We use tools like:

  • Chain analysis (trigger → thoughts → feelings → behavior → consequences)

  • Body awareness and early-warning sign mapping

  • Identifying the beliefs that fuel risky choices (“I’ll be fine,” “I deserve this,” “It’s just one time”)

This isn’t about shaming you. It’s about finally seeing what’s actually driving the bus in those moments.

Phase 3: Build Skills & Higher-Self Alignment (Sessions 9–12)

Once we understand your patterns, we start changing them.

We work on:

  • Impulse control tools (pause techniques, STOP skill, delaying and choosing differently)

  • Emotional regulation (how to handle stress, anger, loneliness without automatically turning to substances)

  • Cognitive shifts (challenging the thoughts that keep setting you up to repeat the past)

  • Higher Self connection (how to listen to the wiser, more grounded part of you)

This is the heart of the reset. Youre not just promising to “never do it again. "You're practicing what you’ll actually do instead.

Phase 4: Long-Term Prevention & Identity Shift (Sessions 13–16)

The final phase is about turning this into a lasting reset:

  • We build your relapse / risk-prevention plan

  • Rehearse high-risk situations (in your mind and in role-play)

  • Define your new identity: the kind of person you’re choosing to be now

  • Clarify your daily / weekly habits that support staying on track

By the end, you’ll have:

  • A written, realistic plan

  • Tools you’ve actually practiced

  • A clearer sense of who you are beyond the worst moment of your life

  • Language you can use when you talk to your SAP, doctor, or employer

How This Helps With SAP / Employer / Professional Requirements

While this program is not SAP itself and does not replace legal or medical advice, it can:

  • Complement the recommendations made by your SAP or treatment provider

  • Give you a structured program to point to when asked, “What have you been doing about this?”

  • Provide professional summaries (with your consent) that document your participation, themes addressed, and skills learned

Most professionals (SAPs, doctors, HR) want to see:

  • Consistency – you showed up and did the work

  • Insight – you understand what led here

  • Skills – you have tools to handle similar triggers in the future

  • Plan – you know what you’ll do to reduce risk going forward

The Higher Self Reset is built with all of those elements in mind.

Who Is the 16-Session Higher Self Reset For?

This program is a good fit if:

  • You’ve had a DUI, positive test, or safety-sensitive violation and you’re ready to take responsibility and move forward

  • You feel ashamed and scared—but also determined not to let this define you forever

  • You’re willing to look honestly at your patterns, even if you don’t consider yourself “an addict”

  • You’re open to a blend of practical tools and deeper self-reflection (including “Higher Self” language, which you can interpret spiritually, psychologically, or simply as your wiser self)

It can also be appropriate if:

  • You’re a doctor, SAP, HR/evaluator looking for a structured program to recommend to certain clients/patients (low–moderate risk, motivated, safety-sensitive roles)

If you’re not sure whether you fit, that’s exactly what a free consultation is for.

Why I Include the “Higher Self” in a Very Real-World Problem

You might be wondering:

“Why talk about a Higher Self when I’m dealing with courts, SAPs, and job loss?”

Because you’re not just a violation.

There is a part of you that:

  • Knows this is serious

  • Wants to protect others and yourself

  • Wants to live with integrity and peace, not constant fear and hiding

You can call that your Higher Self, your deeper wisdom, your future self, or simply “the best in me.”

In this program, we:

  • Respect the practical realities (legal, professional, safety-sensitive responsibilities)

  • Also work with your identity and purpose, so your changes stick because they make sense at the deepest level—not just because someone is watching

How The RESET Point Guide Fits In

If you’re not ready to commit to 16 sessions yet, or you’re just trying to get your bearings, I created a free 7-chapter guide:

The RESET Point – 5 Essential Steps to Get Your Life Back After a DUI or Failed Test

It’s designed to:

  • Help you calm down and think clearly

  • Map out your requirements (SAP, court, employer)

  • Reflect honestly on what led you here, at your own pace

  • Decide what kind of reset you want to create moving forward

You can read it in an evening or over a weekend.

It also gives you a taste of how I work, so you can see if the Higher Self Reset style fits you.

How the Program Works Logistically

A few nuts and bolts:

  • Format: 16 individual sessions (60 minutes each)

  • Where: [Online via Zoom / In-person in (Your Location) / Hybrid – customize]

  • Frequency: Often 1–3 times per week, scheduled around your life and requirements

  • Materials:

    • A client workbook to guide daily reflections and practices

    • Optional resources (books, podcasts) if you like extra support

We start with a consultation to:

  • Understand your situation

  • Clarify what’s already been recommended by your SAP / doctor / court

  • See whether the program is a good fit

  • Answer any questions you have about confidentiality, documentation, or logistics

There’s no pressure to sign up on the spot. The consult is about clarity, not a sales ambush.

This Is About More Than Checking a Box

At the end of the day, you have a choice:

  • You can white-knuckle your way through the minimum requirements, hope no one asks too many questions, and quietly live with the fear of another incident.

Or:

  • You can use this as your RESET Point

    • To understand yourself more deeply

    • To build real skills

    • To become someone you can trust with a license, a job, and a life you’re proud of

If you’re ready for the second path, I’d love to support you.

Whichever you choose, know this:

You are not just the worst decision you’ve ever made. You’re also the person who has the power to respond to it differently—starting now.

If you don't want to go it alone, and need someone in your corner, then reach out today, so we can get you your life back asap!

Wishing you all the love and success on your journey,

Jennifer
